What next?

Holy cow. Lucas is giving me a run for my money these days. I'm sure it shows on my face.
He is non-stop. Everything I do gets un-done in a matter of seconds. He has climbed to the highest heights and explored every inch of this house. He cracks us up with his mischievous expressions and the things he finds "fun". When I make him stop what he's doing, he has started throwing little fits. I try to ignore them and do my best not to laugh. On Sunday a few weeks ago, Lucas was laying on the floor in the hall face down, motionless. Everyone that passed wondered what on earth he was doing. Well, he was mid-tantrum.
OY. What did I get myself into?
On top of my Mom's computer, in the cabinet.
Amidst the TROUBLE, he loves to help. Here he is helping Papa blow leaves,
and as always, making sure the neighbor dog Tux gets fed.
We also had a swine-flu scare (who hasn't?) and the Dr wanted to test Lucas. He just had symptoms of a cold, but the doc wanted to be safe. 5" long swabs up both nostrils at the same time = unhappy Lucas. The test came back negative thank goodness.
Things are crazy around here, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Do your homework...

BLACK FRIDAY is just around the corner and my sis-in-law was kind enough to share this site with me. It already has some adds posted so we can strategically MAP out our morning!
Some say they'd rather stay home, sleep in and pay the extra few dollars to avoid the lines. They're probably smarter than I. Every year I say I'll never do it again. But then I do. I guess I do it for the thrill. It's like a sport. An addiction. I get so excited.

I just thought I'd share the news.
go here to check it out for yourself.

Quick Trip

The last couple days were spent in Coeur d 'Alene, ID. My Brother and his family needed their hair done, so Lucas and I road tripped it. My Dad came along for the ride (so he said) I know that he secretly worries about his little girl and grandson driving over the pass alone. It was nice of him to come with us and it was a nice little break.

It was also nice to see the changing of the seasons. At one point, we saw what looked like 3 different seasons. The sun was out and beat in the car window like a warm summer sun. At the base of the mountains were shades of orange, red and yellow, but as you gazed up the mountain side, it quickly turned to wintery snow-covered evergreens. It once again reminded me just how small I am on this great green earth. And, like every other vacation, we came home to RAIN.

Lucas had fun playing with his cousins and exploring. He was on this belly button kick the whole time. He wouldn’t leave little Jaynie’s belly button alone. He continuously had to go find it and tickle it. It was fun to see Justin and him together. It’s strange to think that they are the same age. Months apart seem huge for little ones, but soon enough they’ll be rough housing together and out digging for worms.

stink stank SKUNK.

Halloween was pretty fun this year. Lucas is understanding a little more, although I'm not sure he was a fan of the mask Jimmy scared him with in the store the other day! We started off carving pumpkins. (thanks to Papa for growing them for us.) Jimmy did some sort of angry alien, mine was beautifully bedazzled, and Lucas just let loose with a sharpie.
I have to brag because I found his costume for .99! I hit a clearance rack when I was pregnant. I wasn't sure it would fit him, but for that cost, it was worth a try! It turns out, it fit perfect.

It was cute to see Jimmy so excited to take Lucas Trick-or-Treating. Jimmy's Mom came over for dinner and we watched that little skunk waddle his tail up and down the street through the front window, bucket in tow and grasping Daddy's hand. Lucas' cousins also came over to visit.

Happy Halloween!
