I'm officially a "Soccer Mom."

For the record: 3 is WAY too young for sports.
but it's SO darn cute.
Not only is he 3, but he is BARELY 3. He's the youngest on the team, but I think he holds his own. :)
His coach is in our ward and is so good with them. Lucas also has a whole bunch of kids from church on his team - so that makes it even more fun!
His first game involved a whole lot of confusion, potty breaks, teammates staring at the crowd instead of the ball, lots of collisions and so much laughter. :)
*his cleats just HAPPENED to match the team colors perfectly!*
 Go Broncos!

The Fair

This was Lucas' first time at the fair.
Look at him now!
He talks about roller coasters quite often - I figured it was time to show him what they're all about. :)
Here he is on his very first ride. This nice little girl partnered up with him.
...and his Daddy even snuck on a ride with him. goofball.
Lucas would have stayed on the tractors all night if we let him.
Gotta love the Puyallup!
This means fall is just around the corner!

Skate Park Party

Lucas is 3! I'm finally getting around to sharing some pictures of his big day.
Before his party, we decided to give him our gift.
A bike. Not just any bike. A "rattle snake bike!!"
He cruised around on that thing like a pro.
The party was a (HOT) success. The weather was (HOT) beautiful. We had (NO SHADE) sub sandwiches.
 Presley
My friend made the adorable (HOT) cake which did not stand the (HOT) weather very well. His eyes got droopy, so we had to borrow Mr. Potato Head's. It was still pretty dang cute.
Lucas has talked about having a GREEN skate park party with a TURTLE cake FOREVER.
and that he did.
Lucas and Brennen
Most of Lucas' Local cousins. :)
Happy Birthday, Lucas!

Murder Mystery Dinner

We have the coolest friends in our ward that put on a Murder Mystery party. It was a blast!
Thanks, Alanna and Tyler for a fun night out!
My character was "Baroness Ravioli" and Jim was "Capo "Toto" Tequila".
I racked my brain trying to figure out how to find a maternity flapper dress! I never did find what I wanted, but Good Will never fails and I ended up getting best costume. :)
My favorite part of the night was getting to wear RED LIPSTICK.
(and then worrying that it was on my teeth all night)

 I see dead people...
still in character
Lucas got to hang out with his Uncle Jeramy that night - and still talks about how much fun he had.
Jeramy took him to 2 parks, tilt (first arcade experience), and McDonalds. What an awesome Uncle!
I think he was fine with us being gone.

Happiness

Last week after Lucas and I went to my check-up, I took Lucas to see Daddy's Eagle Project that sits outside the hospital. He completed it when he was 16. Lucas mentions it every time we drive in or out of my appointments. "there's Daddy's benches!!" Finally we got to sit on them.
(The cowboy hat was a battle I chose not to have this particular morning. We made it to my 8am appointment and that's what matters. :)

I'm so proud of Jimmy for his scouting success and hope Lucas wants to follow in his Daddy's footsteps. :)
While completing an Eagle project I'm sure brings happiness, the happiness I wanted to mention in this post can be found at...
HAPPY DONUTS!
Which is EXACTLY where Lucas and I went next.
Every time I go there I make sure and let them know that they ARE the best doughnut shop around... after which, I stuff my face with my favorite sugar-coated doughnut.

Lucas says

  • "Mom! My legs have HAIR on them! ...YESSSS!" (in his manly voice)
  • For what ever reason, all his past tense words are pronounced ED at the end;  catch-ED, work-ED, poop-ED.
  • He also has been replacing the word "was" with "been". It sounds so southern. "I been at the park" "I been hiding from you" "We been at the fair" "That been hilarious!"
  • me: What do you want to do today? lucas: "Let's go to TARGET!" or "Let's go to the MALL!" (i love him)
  • Everything is a competition. "I'm beating you!" As he races to put on his seat belt, get dressed or eat dinner. Pretty sure that is hereditary. (on both sides)
  • I also love when he tells me, "what are we going to do with you?" or "you make me tired, Mommy."
  • One of his favorite people right now is Uncle Jeramy - He corrects me every time I call him by his real name and tells me "NO, MOM. It's FOOGS." (Jeramy's high school nick name) He prays for him and tries to talk and act like him, saying "peace out homie".
  • Yesterday Jimmy was drinking a pop which I don't let Lucas have. He told Jimmy, "You're being a bad ezzample daddy." after which, I'm sure he asked for a sip.

He would ride his bike or kick a ball around all day if we let him. He's growing into such a big BOY. Leg hair and all.

Here he is crafting. ;) He really does hang out with me too much.
