Life out on the FARM.

Lucas was able to experience a day on the farm. Jim's friend from school grew up on a farm and she was nice enough to have us over to meet their animals. Lucas learned a few things, in fact.
That these horses need love and attention,
if they don't receive enough attention, they can - and WILL give you the stink eye.

They also need food. They don't particularly like being almost fed and waiting for an airplane to pass before the farmer can focus enough to get the carrot into the horses mouth.
The dogs also need treats.
On top of everything, the Daddy always needs to be walked.
 After a long day's work. :)
Thanks SO much, Danielle for letting us come explore the farm!

He learns from the best.

It was only minutes that he was alone. I swear.
When no one was looking, Lucas thought he would dig into Grandma's purse to test out her marvelously mauve lipstick.
It's just not the right color for him. Or for his onesie for that matter. I still can't' get the lipstick stains out. I like how he even made an extra effort to throw some headbands in his hair.
...another one for the books.

Sound to Narrows: TWO

The Sound to Narrows was a blast!
My niece had no one to run with, so I threw Lucas in the jogger and we did the Jr. Shuffle! I was completely fine not running the 12k this year. I hadn't trained for it, so there was no reason to torture myself. In fact, I was quick to volunteer to help Chloe run her race! She did awesome! So did my nephews, brother-in-law and sister who competed in the other races. I am so proud of Tammy for completing her race being newly pregnant and maintaining her time from last year. She rocks.
Again, Lucas competed in the Diaper Dash.
He did great! He even practiced the entire day before. He was SO excited. He's been watching my nephew Mason's track meets, so he had a pretty good idea what it meant to run a race.
He smoked everyone off the block and was headed to Tammy on the other side - until the crowds of people started screaming. Then he turned around and headed straight back to me. So, together we finished the race. :) He's such a stud.

this was his "game face"

Any time spent with cousins is heaven for Lucas. He absolutely loves them.

Thanks, Jim.

...for making this last 5 years the most stressful, crazy, happy, eventful, joyous, exciting, spontaneous, wonderful,
most worth it years of my life. :)

Every year we've traveled somewhere to celebrate. Even if it's just a short trip.
This year will be spent taking finals.
That's all right though. That just means he gets a few days off before summer quarter begins.
Who knows - maybe we'll do something spontaneous. :)

Thanks for all you do for us!
Happy Anniversary.
Love You.
{random old dating photos - I know. I was SO cool.}
