I started my day at work. My day ended with a snugly baby boy in my arms. Not a bad way to finish things. Finish isn't quite the way to put it. This was only the beginning.
I held that infant, and
I felt like we needed to get to know each other.
I needed to learn what soothed him.
I needed to make sure he ate. and pooped. and slept.
I needed to learn to multi task.
I needed to learn to be awake enough at 1am to smile and reassure him that I was there.
I needed to learn of sacrifice - and have a greater understanding of the Lord's love for us.
I needed to learn to raise a baby.
I am still learning. Each and every day.
This is the best learning experience I have ever had.
I knew I wanted to have a baby.
I wasn't sure I wanted to have a child. Which is what he's turning into!
He is so confident, spunky and tricky.
He loves pulling pranks, hiding and scaring people.
He jumps and lands on his two feet from heights about as tall as he is. (This I do not encourage but am amazed by! He's so brave.)
I love his eagerness to hear my stories. His eyes light up and I watch him learn with each word I say.
I really love his snuggles. He loves to hug on me and kiss me in the grocery store.
I love the way he rolls his eyes at me when I tell him he's silly.
He does great summer salts.
He agrees with everything I say with an "uh hu!" which works out pretty well. :)
I love the way he says Popsicle. "pop-oh-owww"
He cherishes pictures he colors in nursery.
Most of all, I love his giggle.
Happy Birthday to my reason.
I love you, Lucas Maxwell Miller.
