Bode • ONE

a blurp from my "letters to boden":

Oh my sweet, sweet Boden. I can't believe you're one! You light up my life and bring peace and comfort to me daily. Your sweet demeanor is just what I need! There is something about you that is so out of this world. I'm amazed by your calm personality. It is a constant reminder to me of what life is all about. There is no reason for contention, the need to rush through life or for irreverence. Those are just a few things that your peace teaches me.

Thank you for balancing out our family so well. You melt my heart.

Here are a few of your latest accomplishments:
You walk!
You are eating everything we eat.
You LOVE to snuggle with Lucas.
You also love to play chase with him around the house - but you're not so fond of him picking you up.
You weighed in at 25lbs, 8oz
height: 2'5.5"
You have 8 1/2 teeth.
You love bath time and RUSH to the bathroom at the sound of running water.
You LOVE LOVE LOVE music and dancing.
You love watching airplanes and being outside.
Your favorite thing to do is put things on your head. Hats, blankets, shirts, cups... anything and everything goes on your head.
You say Momma, Dadda, when looking for something, you hum to my tune, "Passie, where are you?" You blow and say "tah" for Hot.
You love to point to my nose and eyes.
Every day you learn new things and it is so fun to watch.

I love you, handsome boy.
Happy Birthday!

hugs&kisses,
"mommy"

Thanks, Jim.

...for making this last 5 years the most stressful, crazy, happy, eventful, joyous, exciting, spontaneous, wonderful,
most worth it years of my life. :)

Every year we've traveled somewhere to celebrate. Even if it's just a short trip.
This year will be spent taking finals.
That's all right though. That just means he gets a few days off before summer quarter begins.
Who knows - maybe we'll do something spontaneous. :)

Thanks for all you do for us!
Happy Anniversary.
Love You.
{random old dating photos - I know. I was SO cool.}

Happy 4 Year Anniversary!
Some might think, "GOSH, why do people get so personal on BLOGGER?" {I just said that in napoleon dynamite's voice for some reason.}
Because I can. It's my blog. Don't read it if you don't wanna. It's going in our family BOOK. So there.
I thought I'd share a few highlights in brief.
  1. 2005 - giddy/twitterpated {still dating}
  2. June 10th, 2005
  3. Honeymoon in Mexico
  4. 2006 - One year anniversary in Victoria B.C.
  5. 2007 - Two year anniversary in Leavenworth, WA
  6. 2008 - Three year anniversary in Ocean Shores
Each year we try and go on a mini vacay to celebrate our UNdying love. ;) This year we are headed to Washington D.C. after which, we will spend time in Virginia Beach with Jenny and Kaylen. We are SO excited.

Now, a few words for my LOVE:

Thanks for loving me for who I am. Thanks for always being my biggest fan. Your voice is not only the one I hear {loudly} while playing basketball, but it's the one I hear when I make big decisions in life. No matter what, you're always there. Thanks for your support. Thanks for helping me believe in who I am. Thanks for making me laugh. A lot. {Thanks for doing that really high-pitched laugh that in turn, makes me laugh so hard that no noise comes out.} Thanks for teaching me. Thanks for your faith in me, in our goals, in life and most importantly in the gospel. Thanks for loving our son. Thanks for your HUGS. Thanks for going after what you want in life.
Thanks for being my BEST FRIEND.

happy anniversary, jimmy.

2nd First Date

Jimmy and I were LUCKY enough to go on our second "First Date." This is the first time we have gone out with just the two of us since Lucas was born. It kind of happened by accident. We planned on going out to eat with Lucas. We were about to head out the door, when my Dad offered to watch him. SUHWEET!

We went to Suthanya Thai Renaissance Bistro in DesMoines. SO GOOD. I was suprised to see live music and really decent prices. The setting was... kind of...ahem... "romantic". It was a little foreign to us {not so romantic since the baby came} people! ;) The owner played the piano while we ate. It was really nice. The service was wonderful. I think the people lived upstairs - so that was a little weird, but we LOVED it. The best part of it was, it was FREE. {Thanks for the bday gift, Jerm!}

We also fit in a mani/pedi appt. (Yes, Jimmy proudly gets his nails done) We went to the same place that induced my labor the day Lucas came. Their massage chairs rawk! The Vietnamese ladies thought it was so neat that they helped me go into labor.

What more could I ask for?? Nails and Thai food!
Doesn't even compare to our first date! Denny's. Yes, that's right. DENNY'S. It was the only place open, and Jimmy couldn't resist me, so we had cocoa at Denny's. :)

We had a fun time. It was kind of like we were getting to know each other again. All though, I felt like I was forgetting something the entire time ...LUCAS!
