Halloween 2013

This year's costume plan was a total whim and it turned out so fun.  I wasn't sure what they were going to be - all I knew was that I really wanted to see my boys in TIGHTS. I know, I'm an awesome Mom.
We dressed up and headed to the pumpkin patch for some photos, had roasted corn and headed home to watch... PETER PAN! Thanks a ton for your help, Amy... the SHOES. come ON.

Happy Halloween!

Fun friends, Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood.

September Flashback

I never posted about our yearly trip to the fair. We had a blast. Lucas participated in the kids Tractor Pull and did SO well, tying for second. It was a confidence booster (as if he needed one) to have the crowd cheering for "LUCAS"! It was very cute.

Lucas occasionally gets to be the snack boy at school and it is so cute to see how excited he gets over it. He spends quite a bit of time thinking about what his snack will be. He also loves to bring show and tell.

I can't believe all the "big kid" things he is doing. Time sure flies. :( It's hard to watch Lucas grow up.

PRESCHOOL

Preschool is upon us!
So far, so good! Lucas was very ready for the transition and loves Mrs. Rumel.
Lucas has a late August Birthday, so he can easily start school next year, or I can choose to keep him back. This is an upcoming decision that weighs my mind heavily. I thought my mind was made when we enrolled him in the 3 year old class because he had JUST turned 4. 2 Days into school, I got a call from his teacher concerned that he was bored. So, we bumped him up with the big 4 year olds and he is doing much better. I'm still unsure about Kindergarten, but we still have time to evaluate him when the time comes. I hate to send him off into the "real world!"
Overall, he is a SPONGE and every day he comes home telling me what new and exciting thing he has learned. He loves show and tell, being the snack boy and carpooling with buddy, Riley.

Happy Halloween!

We looked forward to this holiday for 9 months! I would tell Lucas that after we have Halloween, the baby will come. We have talked pirate talk for months, we even found a parrot that Lucas named "olly" as opposed to the classic "polly". Unfortunately, once Halloween came, this pirate wanted no part of it. Here is my unhappy Pirate:
Once he got to the party, he had fun. He went with Daddy and cousins and ended up having a blast.
On the day of Halloween, we had our first big outing. (All because we ran out of milk.) We ventured off to Fred Meyer - just the three of us. It was quite a production. Normally, we're out the door no later than 9am. This was more like 11 once I got Boden fed, dressed and happy. I'm getting better now. :)
Both boys trying to flee the scene...
I hadn't planned on having Boden around yet, so we borrowed an adorable pumpkin costume from Tammy. (Ethan wore this one when he was a newbie) Thanks, Tammy! She always comes to the rescue with adorable costumes to share!
Lucas made the rounds with Daddy while Boden and I stayed cozy by the fire with the Grandparents.
Happy Halloween!
