August is here...

...and things have slown down in some respects and SPED up in others.
family reunions/trips are pretty much over, but work is really changing gears for me and now I'm in the fast lane.
It leaves me grateful but wanting more on my plate for some crazy reason!
Things are taking off with photography and EVERYONE needs back to school do's - so I'm multi-tasking to the max.
No matter what goes on, Lucas needs my undivided attention, so that makes the multi-tasking a bit difficult.
I love him nonetheless and it does feel good to be wanted. Someday he might not want me anymore. So, I take the snuggles, the train track building, tractor-watching and CONSTANT call for "Mom!" with pleasure. He reminds me to find amazement in the small things. Today, we watched bees and spiders for a good 30 minutes.

I can't help but feel like there's more to give. I'm crazy. So, I continue pounding the pavement.

On a side note, my wrinkly, swaddled, sweet baby boy will be 2 on the 25th. Wow.
I won't mention my birthday or Jimmy's birthday - because I wish we could just stay this age.
{minus the school.}

As for now, I'm going to remain busy, and enjoy every blazing sun break we get here in Seattle.
Happy Summer.

what have I created?

Children are sponges. That said, I'm pretty sure Lucas should start hanging out with Daddy more. He knows just how to put a headband on and curl his eye lashes. He brings me his hair product all the time so we can style his hair. He also combs it, shampoos it himself and always admires himself in the mirror. This particular morning, I even tried to put a show on for him so I could just finish getting ready without interruptions. Nope. He'd rather be right next to me. He climbs up on the counter from the toilet and perches himself right by the mirror. Oh boy.

After this happened, I made an extra effort to get the airplanes and cars down for him to play with. :)

He's too funny.

A picture taking kind of day.

We had quite the day earlier this week.
The night prior, I cut Jimmy's hair. As luck would have it, the clippers died. This actually ALWAYS happens when I cut his hair. He usually complains and I end up charging the clippers. I know better than to leave them out charging, as Lucas is intrigued with anything that plugs in and even more intrigued by the things he can't have.

8am
I hear the sound of buzzing coming from the dining room.

I came in to this:
and this:
10am
I wasn't quick enough to give him his morning snack.
So he found his own.

3pm
After nap, Lucas decided that he needed to do his puzzles.
He climbed out of his crib, onto his dresser and quietly did several puzzles.

These things used to happen to other people and I would think,
"Sheesh people. WATCH YOUR KIDS."

So. Either I was super judgmental back then, or I'm a worse Mother than I thought.

...still haven't fixed his haircut. The patch is growing on me.

OY.

just for me.

I did something for myself today.
You should, too.

I started a HAIR blog! I've had it going for a little while now, but some of you may not know. Check it out! Thanks!
